Four campground yurts on the edge of a grassy meadow above the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds in Ninilchik, AK. Each yurt sleeps 4-8 on four sleeping decks with vinyl covered mattress pads. You may set up an additional tent near your yurt for more sleeping space if needed. Each yurt is insulated and has a small wood stove for year-round comfort. There is also a shared firepit area with picnic tables and an outhouse available on the premises. Parking is adjacent to the yurts.
Each yurt features: a wood stove, two burner cook stove (please bring your own Coleman green canister propane fuel), teapot, water container, bucket, and cookpot. Some of the yurts have additional amenities, as seen in the video walkthrough. The yurts are dry (no running water), but there is a spring below the campground at the end of the big parking lot across from the fairgrounds. While many locals use the water untreated, it is suggested that you consider boiling the water for 12 minutes prior to use. Feel free to cut firewood from fallen trees on the opposite side of the camping area, or bring your own to ensure you can use the wood stove for heat if needed.
Like most camping etiquette, there is a tradition for guests to leave their yurt cleaner than it was when they arrive. Please help continue this tradition.
